    EPA Region 7, Iowa State University, and the University of Iowa are co-hosting a regionally focused conference on anaerobic digestion (AD) in agriculture on Monday, November 6 - Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Scheman Building at the Iowa State Center. 

    The purpose of the conference is to engage stakeholders; facilitate information exchange on anaerobic digestion in agriculture; and focus on solutions for the various challenges facing those operating an AD facility or those interested in owning and operating their own facility.

    Join ISU colleagues for Dr. Badri Khanal's seminar titled, "Using Precision Conservation to Target Land Retirement: Incorporating Spatially Variable Profit and Crop Insurance Premiums" on Friday, February 4th starting at 3:10pm CST.

    Dr. Khanal is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Delaware's Center for Experimental and Applied Economics (CEAE), Department of Applied Economics and Statistics. His research interests include studying human decision-making processes in the choice of agri-environmental programs, conservation programs, agricultural technology adoption, and farm profit maximization using precision agriculture and crop insurance. He'll also share information about farmer's willingness to pay for conservation practices like prairie strips.
